Simplicity
Simplicity. What does it mean? I just read a blog that talked about taking less and giving more. Over the last two weeks I haven’t been home until around 8 o’clock most nights. That doesn’t give much time to relax and prepare for the next day. Also, my quiet time with God has almost diminished. So, reading a blog about simplicity sounded really good. I don’t know that I’ll cut my cable bill just yet, but I do want to cut something out. The first step is to take inventory of what’s in my life, what’s taking my time, money and energy away. Second I need to determine what of those things are needs or wants. (All conveniences need to be broken down further too…are they saving time/money or are they costing time/money and what’s the best balance of the two.) With all that, I need to keep my priorities in order. Only by keeping my priorities in order will I be able to effectively evaluate my life. So, with turning my eyes and ears to God, I go forward to reclaim some time. What will God fill that time with? I hope a little quiet time and a lot of laughing.
